our story

Over 20 years before 580BEEF was even a thought, strong friendships among its ranchers were established. Ryan Staerkel and Brian Grantz met and became good friends while in college at Oklahoma State University where they both studied Animal Science.  Upon graduation, Brian returned to Covington.  He established his own cattle herd while doing custom hay work to supplement the operation.  Ryan began his Veterinary practice in Enid while branching off on his own in the cattle business.  Shortly after opening his vet clinic, Ryan met the Jantz family from Drummond.  He helped Michelle (Jantz) Rundle and her father build a cow program focused on carcass genetics and better management practices.

These three friendships developed into partnerships, and the group 580BEEF was formed.  This partnership among three ranching families has allowed 580BEEF to provide farm fresh, all natural, dry-aged beef direct to the consumer.

All of our 580BEEF ranchers are enrolled in a verified natural beef program.  Our program cattle never receive antibiotics or hormones, and are never fed any animal by-products. We invite you to get to know us better.
