Ryan and Cicily Staerkel along with their three children; Dylan, Will, and Lala have been raising cattle on a ranch east of Enid for close to 30 years.  Ryan is a Veterinarian with an Animal Science undergrad degree.  Cicily teaches Kindergarten.  It was in undergrad that Ryan pursued an interest in the beef industry as a whole--not just raising cattle.  He was on the OSU Meat Judging Team.  He also participated in the 1995 National Beef Quality Audit.  Both of these focussed on carcass quality as well as food safety.  The Staerkel Ranch has developed a beef cow herd with emphasis on carcass quality, ie “The Final Product”.  They believe that if cattle start out with good carcass genetics, have access to great forage and are never stressed, they will produce the best quality beef.  For the last five years, the Staerkel Ranch has been Certified All Natural by either IMI Global or Verified Beef.  This has allowed the Staerkel Ranch to market their beef in several different avenues such as Whole Foods, Europe, Japan and in certain GMO Free Markets.  They sought to join forces with other ranchers in their area who shared the same passion for the beef industry and who wanted to provide their product locally.

Therefore, 580BEEF was born!
